On the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 2, 2023 No. ЗРУ-858 “On amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “About the radio frequency spectrum””

In recent years, large-scale work has been carried out in hard-to-reach and remote areas of the republic to expand the coverage of mobile communications and mobile Internet, improving the quality of communication services provided, it is noted that the coverage of populated areas with fiber optic communication lines reached 81 percent, and the coverage of mobile Internet 98 percent.

At the same time, a number of reforms are being carried out in the regions aimed at increasing the volume of communication services and creating additional benefits for mobile operators. In particular, a number of changes have been made to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “About the radio frequency spectrum”.

The main purpose of the adoption of the law is to ensure more efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum, the development of telecommunications networks and providing the population with higher quality telecommunications services.

The law introduced a procedure for sharing the radio frequency spectrum, taking into account best international experience. In this case, the sharing of radio frequency bands is allowed to users of more than one radio frequency spectrum, and this process is established by concluding an agreement between them on the basis of the appropriate permission of the radio frequency authority.

Also, changes are being made to the Law to regulate information security issues and clarify the names of government bodies reorganized as a result of administrative reforms.    

Within the framework of the organized training seminars, explanations are given on the issues of bringing existing regulatory legal acts into compliance with this law and explaining their content to the employees of the enterprise, as well as improving the quality of legal information; a number of events are organized (press conferences, briefings, conferences, press tours, and. etc.)
