On December 16-18, 2020, the 4th conference on spectrum management in the CIS and Central and Eastern Europe was held in virtual mode.

From December 16 to December 18, 2020, the 4th annual Conference "Spectrum Management in the CIS and Central and South-Eastern Europe", organized by Forum Global with the support of the International Telecommunication Union, was held in the format of video conferencing.


 

The conference was attended by over 350 professionals representing Communications Administrations, regulators, operators, equipment manufacturers, research organizations, the private sector from 60 countries, as well as the ITU Radiocommunication Bureau, ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau and the RCC Executive Committee.

The conference was held in Russian and English.

The conference reviewed and discussed radio frequency aspects of the global infrastructure of the digital economy, including:

• the role of ITU in ensuring equitable access to the radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits for all users;

• the role of the ITU Radio Regulations Board in regulating the use of radiocommunication systems;

• efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum and further development of radio communication systems in the light of the decisions of WRC-19 and preparations for WRC-23;

• the impact of Covid-19 on radio spectrum policy;

• user needs and deployment scenarios for networks in mm ranges,

• search for the required spectrum in the "middle" range;

Within the framework of session 5, on the issues of Searching for the most suitable frequencies in the middle range from the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Bakhtiyor Makhkamov, Head of the Department for Regulation of the Use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan made a presentation.
