On February 27, 2023, an event was held at the Electromagnetic Compatibility Service of Andijan region under the slogan “We are against corruption.”
During the event, a detailed understanding of the concept of corruption was given. Corruption is one of the phenomena in our society that is faced and contributes to discussion in our society. The concept of corruption is defined in legal documents as follows: “Corruption is a social phenomenon expressed in the use of official position by government officials in material or proprietary form for the purpose of illegal personal gain.”
As a result of corruption:
• the corruption system interferes with business, which cannot develop successfully, which leads to a reduction in the overall wealth of the country;
• the amount of money that the government must pay workers and spend on supplies: books, medicines, computers, etc. is reduced;
• leads to inappropriate spending of funds allocated by the state for social services (schools, hospitals, roads, utilities, etc.), which worsens the quality of services;
• conditions are created so that people who have money and connections can change laws and regulations of government bodies in their own interests;
• undermines trust in government.
The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle said: “The most important thing in any government is to organize affairs through laws and regulations so that officials cannot get rich illegally.”
Therefore, when you want to give a bribe to an official in order to get something valuable for yourself, you should keep in mind that giving a bribe contributes to the growth of corruption in the country.
To eradicate corruption, first of all, we must ask ourselves the following questions: what can I do to eradicate corruption, how can I help?
Yes, corruption will not disappear until we follow these rules:
• do not give or take bribes;
• strive to achieve desired results based on personal integrity;
• notification of corruption events.
