On November 2-3, 2023, at the Novotel Hotel in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with Huawei (China), organized a forum on the topic “Releasing the 700 MHz band for the development of mobile communications in the Central Asian region” .
The forum was attended by representatives of the communications administrations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, and in an online format through the Zoom platform, representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Huawei and mobile operators of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As a result of the forum, agreements were reached on the release of the radio frequency band 694-790 MHz in Central Asia and the harmonious use of the frequency bands 694-790 MHz, 790-890 MHz, 2500-2690 MHz and a draft Protocol was created to find solutions to other existing problems.
