Development of the Uzbek language

The Uzbek language is our pride and value

Since being given the status of a state language in 1989, the Uzbek language has achieved many positive changes. Today, much work is being done to strengthen the role of the Uzbek language in state and public life.

However, some problems remain:

• Lack of modern words: It is necessary to form new terms for technology, science and the Internet in the Uzbek language. Currently, borrowed international terms are more often used.

• Failure to comply with language culture: Failure to comply with the rules of the language often leads to a distortion of its purity in official documents, media and everyday life.

• Limitations in technology: In the digital world, there is a lack of software, dictionaries and applications in the Uzbek language.

Important steps have been taken to enhance the status of the Uzbek language:

• In 1989, the Law "On the State Language" was adopted, which enshrined its status.

• In 2019, a decree was signed "On a radical increase in the prestige and status of the Uzbek language as a state language". Within the framework of this decree, October 21 is declared the Day of Uzbek Language Celebration.

• The number of textbooks and scientific sources in the Uzbek language in the field

of education is increasing.

• New programs, mobile applications and voice translation systems in the Uzbek language are being created.

Prospective development plans for the future

For the further development of the Uzbek language, it is necessary to:

• Create new terms: it is necessary to develop new Uzbek words and terms in modern sciences and technologies. For this, cooperation between linguists and scientists

is important.

• Pay more attention to technology: it is necessary to increase the number of mobile applications, programs and websites in the Uzbek language.

• Promote language culture: it is important to preserve the literary and pure form of the Uzbek language, as well as actively promote the culture of the language.

• International recognition of the Uzbek language: Holding international conferences, scientific research and cultural events in the Uzbek language will help increase

its recognition in the world.

The Uzbek language is a symbol of our national identity and wealth. Every citizen should value, develop and preserve their native language. By loving our language and passing it on to new generations, we preserve our culture and history. International Mother Language Day reminds us of the role we can play in its development.
