Status and development prospects of the 5G network in our country

More than half a billion people around the world already use fifth-generation mobile networks, and with the widespread use of 5G technology, many areas of life and business are radically changing: medicine, transport, industry, and even the appearance of cities.

The 5G standard differs from previous communication standards primarily in the speed of Internet connection, which means that it will now be able to download more than 100 times faster speeds and large amounts of data in a short time. The changes associated with the introduction of 5G technologies are radically changing lives.

In particular, in our country, there were reports that the first tests of the 5G network were carried out by Uzmobile and Ucell operators in September 2019. In these tests conducted with SpeedTest, download speeds were up to 1,376 Mbps.

Currently, mobile operators in our republic provide 5G network services in the city of Tashkent using the 3.4-3.8 GHz frequency range and 14 base stations with n77, n78 bands in accordance with the technical specifications of 3GPP TS 38.101.

In the future, in order to further develop the 5G network and the next generations in our country, in addition to the 3.4-3.8 GHz band, it is planned to introduce such bands as 700 MHz, 1500 MHz, 1900 MHz, 25 GHz.
